Paddington’s Trumper Park Tennis Centre transforms into the ultimate social tennis event for Social Serve on Saturday 15 October. The lively charity event combines great drinks, gourmet eats, beats and a giant serving of social tennis to support people with disabilities accessing sport.

Food and drink are equally important as the tennis at Social Serve. Gourmet hotdogs and tacos from Woofy’s are washed down with 4 Pines beers and cocktails by Poor Toms. DJs entertain with tunes to make it a game, set, match.

Competitive types arrive at 3pm for VIP tennis lessons before the afternoon doubles matches begin and the rose gets poured. Bring a picnic blanket and some mates and settle in for an afternoon of fun. Winners are crowned in a special presentation but ultimately everyone is a winner at the end of the day. Social Serve kicks-on at an exclusive after-party with details revealed on the day.

The team behind Social Serve include Australian Director of Last Man Stands T20 Cricket, Rob Stevenson and former Scottish international tennis player, Iain Boyd. These two are highly passionate about getting Gen Y involved in tennis and saw an opportunity to blend a sport they love with a great party and an important cause.

All drink proceeds from Social Serve will be donated to Primary Club – an Australian charity dedicated to providing those with disabilities access to sport. Founded in 1974, The Primary Club of Australia has raised over $5 million and donated equipment to many projects that help to get more people with disabilities participating in sport. While the benefits of regular physical activity are the same for people with and without disabilities, only 21% of females and 28% of males with disabilities in Australia participate in sufficient amounts of exercise.

As if you needed another excuse to don your most fashionable active wear. This social afternoon of mixed doubles with drinks on the sideline is curated for all levels. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up a racquet or if you’re the next Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal, get involved.

Early bird tickets starting from just $15 and available now from www.socialserve.com.au.
