With only two weeks to go until Vivid Sydney bursts into life at its newest precinct, Barangaroo (South) is shaping up to be the ideal dining stopover for visitors to this spectacular event.

A huge variety of food options will be on offer every evening during the festival (Friday 26 May – Saturday 17 June), ranging from grab-and-go ‘cheap eats’ for families up to an array of harbourside restaurants that have quickly made Barangaroo’s curated food precinct a foodies’ paradise.

Barangaroo, through the Barangaroo Delivery Authority and Lendlease, is delighted to be joining Vivid Sydney for the first time this year.  Many of its eateries will extend their trading hours during Vivid Sydney so visitors can choose from more than 30 restaurants, bars and cafes as they follow a discovery trail of light and art installations around Sydney’s new waterfront neighbourhood.

A large selection of Vivid Sydney-inspired food, drinks and activities have been curated at a variety of price points to ensure everyone is well fed and entertained while exploring Barangaroo (South). Keep an eye out for the tea that changes colour, and glow-in-the-dark hair spray and face painting.

 

  • Devon Café goes psychedelic with Purple Haze sundae, an electric purple ube (purple yam) soft serve with leche flan and taro.
  • Oh! Boo Chocolates keeps the whole family happy with raspberry and cola chocolate bars,vibrant handmade chocolate lollipops for the kids and coconut with citrus zest and blue curaçao liqueur chocolates for the adults.
  • At Ume Burger, Kerby Craig creates a wicked Vivid Sydney Burger with signature house-made wagyu mince sauce, fries with umami salt, spicy special sauce, tomato, onion, beef patty and cheese.
  • Glowing cocktails are on the menu at Banksii’s Belvedere light bar and Untied’s winter-themed pop-up rooftop bar. Be sure to try the Basil Dazzle and Vivid Spritz.
  • The Rabbit Hole serves a Vivid Sydney butterfly pea flower tea that changes colour from blue to purple to pink with a squeeze of lemon.
  • Also stop by Anason, Shirt Bar and Zushi for more Vivid Sydney-inspired cocktails during the festival.
  • Kids can get into the spirit with electrifying neon glow-in-the-dark hair spray and face painting at blow dry and make-up bar, Blown Lux.
  • DJs hit the decks as the sun sets at Untied’s weekly Vivid Sydney rooftop parties Thursdays from 4-9pm.
  • Walk under the twinkling lights of Wulugul Walk’s bustling waterfront and sample a variety of takeaway international cuisine including paella from love.fish, mezes from Anason and bao from Lotus.

Vivid Sydney will light up Barangaroo (South) from 6pm – 11pm every evening from Friday 26 May – Saturday 17 June. Visitors wanting to start their Barangaroo experience early can take a free 30 minute guided tour at 4.00pm, 4.45pm, 5.30pm, throughout the festival.

The southern end of Barangaroo is best accessed from Wynyard Station via Wynyard Walk, or is a short stroll from King Street Wharf and the Darling Harbour ferry stop.
