Maribyrnong is set to go loco for Mad Mex this June when the fresh Mexican grill brings the heat to Highpoint with its newest store opening on Friday 17 June.
Mad Mex creates fresh Baja-Mexican food using authentic Mexican recipes and ingredients, with a Californian influence. From the best burritos this side of the hemisphere to quesadillas, tacos to salads, there’s a range of delicious and fresh options. Using only the highest quality ingredients, each Mad Mex store prepares delicious guacamole using fresh avocados as well as slow-cooked and freshly grilled meats like pulled pork carnitas and grilled chicken, daily. The Mad Mex menu is customisable, allowing customers to choose exactly what makes up their meal and tailor it to their personal tastes and dietary requirements.
This is the second store for Melbourne local Sean McNerney, who already owns the Mad Mex at 600 Bourke St in the CBD. Sean, who went into franchising because he wanted to be his own boss, chose Mad Mex because he is passionate about good, fresh, healthy food.
Highpoint is the major shopping centre for the west and north-west of Melbourne with around 17 million people visiting annually. When asked why he chose the location at Highpoint, Sean said: “I’ve spent my whole life in the area so I know it well and when people walk into the dining precinct at Highpoint, their perception is that it’s all processed and deep-fried – I am determined to change this! Mad Mex offers a fast solution for people who want something full of flavor, healthy and fresh. Fast food doesn’t have to be bad food!”
The new store will boast a chilled, fun fiesta-inspired atmosphere, which makes a fantastic setting for a quick bite or dinner with la familia.
The Mad Mex mission is to create the best burritos in the world based on a food philosophy anchored in premium quality ingredients sourced both locally and directly from Mexico while using traditional and Baja recipes and cooking techniques to deliver the Mad Mex twist.
The opening of Highpoint takes the total number of Mad Mex stores to 65 across Australia and New Zealand with an additional 15 set to open later in the year.
