The first of Wharf Bar’s Wine Series kicks off this April at Manly Wharf Hotel. Indulge in a three-course feast complete with matched wines hosted by butcher Adam North from Hopkins River Beef. The night begins with a glass of Squealing Pig frose and canapes on arrival, followed by a lavish spread of antipasto paired with Saltram Mamre Brook riesling.

Next, juicy cuts of porterhouse and scotch fillet steaks are served with shiraz from Pepperjack’s Graded Collection. Pepperjack’s finest wines from Langhorne Creek and McClaren Vale are designed to smoothly match the Hopkins River fare. As you feast, North takes you on a journey through the meaty world of cuts and why they pair perfectly with red vinos. Just as different steak cuts have distinct flavours, textures and appeal, so does shiraz.

To finish, a selection of cheeses smoked in port is served with a perfectly paired glass of Saltram Mr Pickwick’s Tawny port. Roll-out feeling wine-savvy and with a satisfied stomach.
