One of Turkey’s leading chefs, Maksut Askar, hosts a five-course dinner with long-time mate Somer Sivrioglu at Efendy, Balmain on Friday 14 July. Guests get a taste of the menu at Askar’s Istanbul restaurant, Neolokal, which includes dishes such as fat fried pistachio filo with slow cooked beef in duck stock and colourful yogurt; and grilled octopus with Gambelia fava beans, pepper salsa and pickled onions. Matching Turkish wines are also available.
