At Tonic, we are crazy about anything and everything food and drink-related. To satisfy our culinary-curiosity (and ever-ready bellies) team Tonic regularly ventures away from Tonic HQ to explore each glorious area of Sydney, one delicious suburb at a time. Recently, we explored the inner-city suburbs of Pyrmont and Glebe for an afternoon. Here’s what we recommend doing if you’re visiting:
12:30pm – Lunch at Glebe Point Diner: a classic bistro with touches of French cuisine. The menu includes tuna ceviche with a fresh celeriac slaw; smooth chicken liver pate with warm toast; pillow-perfect gnocchi with king oyster mushrooms; and a beautiful cut of steak lathered with herb-infused butter and lashings of onion rings.
3pm – Walk (roll) from Glebe to Pyrmont via the Fish Markets: a foodie’s playground with amazing seafood and produce. Be sure to stop by Parisi for chocolate dipped fruit.
4pm – For a little break between your feasting-crawl, have a wonder down to Pyrmont Park right on the water. Play cards, nap or just soak up the gorgeous weather. The incredible view over Sydney Harbour is one amazing landscape inspo.
6:30pm –Drinks at The Gallon to top off a chilled afternoon. Sit back and relax in the florist-come-bar surrounds be sure to order the bowl of potatoes; hummus; buffalo wings; and crispy duck shanks.
