In salute to the madams of Sydney, Darlinghurst eatery Madame Shanghai hosts ‘Mum Cha’ every Thursday lunchtime. Mums can unwind with a complimentary glass of sparkling and a dessert. Prams are welcome and madame will supply the high chairs.
Madame Shanghai serves Shanghai street food and yum cha. Think charcoal dishes such as sizzling king prawns with Sichuan bean paste and macadamia nuts; soft shell crab with tomato chilli and grilled milk bread and sweet corn with bonito mayonnaise and seaweed dust. Expect yum cha favourites like dumplings, crispy white radish cakes and BBQ pork buns too.
To keep things interesting, the complimentary dessert will rotate weekly with options including: ruby jewels, a white miso cheesecake with passionfruit and cassis; or mango pudding with mango, milk foam and finger lime.
